It is the 54th Easter Seals Season on Prince Edward Island
The Ambassador for this year's PEI Easter Seals Campaign is twelve-year-old Colton Matheson, a grade six student at Montague Consolidated School. Colton, son of Jamie & Debra Matheson and Shannon Lavandier, lives in Montague, Prince Edward Island.
Colton has Downs Syndrome. He is a talented young man with a quick sense of humor, an ever-present smile and a huge love for music. Colton is involved in Special Olympics, an avid golfer and local entertainer. Colton is ecstatic to be the 2010 Easter Seals Ambassador:
"My motto is Feel the Joy! I am thrilled to be the Easter Seals Ambassador," said Colton.
The Easter seals campaign is a franchised project of the Charlottetown Rotary Club, and supported by the Rotary Clubs of Summerside and Montague. A direct mail campaign, Tim Horton’s Ambassador’s School Tour, a live telethon on CBC Television, the paper egg campaign and other fundraising initiatives enable Easter Seals to help provide programs and equipment for people with disabilities on PEI. The campaign has the ability to accept donations online making it even easier to support Easter Seals in PEI. The secure online system allows either one-time or automatic monthly donations and tax receipts are automatically issued by email.
The PEI Easter Seals Society has provided financial assistance to support programs at Camp Gencheff, PEI Rehabilitation Council, Joy Riders, CADS-PEI (disabled skiers assoc.) and many other worthy organizations. The Society encourages businesses or organizations interested in supporting this year’s Easter Seals campaign to contact the Coordinator by email. The contact info is below.
