Foundation Recognition Points Can Be Transferred
FRP’s are like currency that can be transferred from one account into another. You are free to transfer away as many FRP’s that you possess to whomever you choose. The significance of this is that the entity (individual, club, or district) with suitable points can transfer them to someone else and that person will get the recognition as if they had accumulated the points themselves. In essence, transfers can be used as awards. A club, for instance, can use some of their FRP's to honour someone as a Paul Harris Fellow.

FRP’s can only be transferred into an individual (both non-Rotarian and Rotarian) or a business account (the recognition given to businesses is called a “Certificate of Appreciation”). They can never be transferred into a club or district account. They cannot be transferred into the same account where they accrued. FRP’s do not expire and can be transferred at any time by completing the form below:

Rotary Foundation FRP Recognition & Transfer Form 102-EN

To transfer FRP’s from a:

  • Club account - the Club President’s signature is required.
  • District account - the District Governor’s signature is required.
  • Individual account - the account holder’s signature is required. (The Club President’s signature will be accepted, if the account holder is not available & the account holder approves of the transfer).
The FRP’s of a deceased member or one that has left the club and/or Rotary, can also be transferred with the Club’s President approval and signature. However, please note that if the individual who has left should return to the club and/or Rotary, and wish to retain use of his FRP’s, the Club is responsible for reinstating those points; via an agreement that is satisfactory to both the Member and Club.

How you get Foundation Recognition Points
As noted in the introduction, once you are a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) you will accrue FRP's by making donations to particular programs of The Rotary Foundation. Each personal contribution that you make will be credited to your personal recognition amount (this will increase your PHF level) and in addition will earn you FRP’s. Please keep in mind that only your personal contributions will accrue points. Transfers into your account, such as club and district transfers and/or matches or gifts made in your name (any gift that you are not the donor), will not earn/accrue new FRP’s. Such transfers will however increase your recognition amount (PHF level).
